Anyone experiencing pain or limited
mobility of all ages and walks of life can benefit from
seeing a Myotherapist. Although many patients are
referred by Doctors and other health professionals
referrals are not essential. Some of the most common
conditions myotherapy can help with are:
|
Soft Tissue Pain |
| Soft Tissue Pain can present with many differing
symptoms: |
| Throbbing |
Nagging |
Pain with movement |
| Burning pain |
Sharp pains |
Pins and needles |
| Deep dull aches |
Headaches |
Pain that travels or moves |
|
| This pain can happen suddenly or over a long period of
time and is normally due to excess physical or emotional
stress in our day to day life. Excessive physical and
emotional stress is frequently due to: |
| Occupations |
Child Birth |
Hobbies |
| Accidents |
Sports |
Obesity |
| Posture |
Disease |
Sleep position |
| Hormones |
House work |
Long periods in the car |
| Nutrition |
Hydration |
Immobility |
Restricted movement
Have you ever noticed that you can’t move as far or as
easily to one side compared to the other? The body
should function evenly and without any pain on both
sides. Restricted movement is one of the first signs of
muscle dysfunction, a ‘warning signal’ that things are
not right even if there is no symptom of pain yet.
|
The longer a condition is present the longer it
can take to heal. |
Sports Injuries
Sporting injuries affect the elite athlete and the
recreational walker alike. They can impair performance,
reduce stamina and prevent participation altogether.
Myotherapy can assess and treat sports injuries,
evaluate risk factors, identify possible causes of
injuries and implement rehabilitation and prevention
programs.
Occupational injuries
Most occupations leave workers prone to developing
associated aches and pains. Some work places can create
chronic conditions from tasks performed, while other
injuries are via accidents. A Myotherapist treats
the symptoms, identifies aggravating activities and
assesses workstations, they can also develop self
management regimes to prevent the reoccurrence of
symptoms. Yes! We do treat work cover patients, for

Poor Posture
Poor posture and body mechanics are the root cause
of a large number of muscular problems as it places
abnormal stresses on the soft tissue structures. Poor
Posture often leads to one muscle group tightening
while another weakens making it harder to maintain
correct posture. Myotherapy treatments release these
tight muscles allowing correct posture to be regained,
while corrective exercise techniques are taught to
strengthen any imbalances. Corrective postural techniques
can be learned which can prevent many conditions from
developing.
Have you tried everyone else and still
suffer pain?
Myotherapy may help as it fills a large
gap in the health-care
field providing expertise in areas that other therapies
do not.
What have you got to loose?
